Daniel Rechtshaffen Criminal Defence understands that being charged with a criminal offence may be the most stressful and disruptive thing that can happen to a person. Starting with the initial consultation, we seek to put our clients at ease. First, we will explain the timeline of a criminal charge, from the arrest through to its conclusion. We will then lay out a detailed plan for strategically attacking the case against you. We will also ensure that at every stage, you are kept fully informed of the progress in your matter.
Daniel Rechtshaffen graduated from Osgoode Hall Law School in 2002, where he placed first in moot court in Toronto and second in Canada, and was one of 10 students from the 258 person class to receive the Student Honour Award.
Daniel Rechtshaffen Criminal Defence was established in 2003, and has been devoted exclusively to criminal and regulatory law since that time. Mr. Rechtshaffen combs through every last shred of evidence with surgical precision, works tirelessly preparing for trial, and most importantly, applies sound judgement to all of his cases.
Daniel has represented clients charged with crimes that range from white collar offences & frauds, to serious personal injury offences such as murders and sexual assaults, to impaired driving, and everything in between. Daniel has special interest in complex, large-scale organized crime prosecutions, including gun and drug offences involving police wiretapping and surveillance.
Daniel has also had great success in exposing police corruption; there is nothing he likes better than obtaining justice for clients who have been victims of racial profiling or oppressive police tactics.
